How many treatments are needed?

The number of treatments required is dependent on many factors which include:

  • The colour of the hair
  • Skin type
  • Hair follicle depth
  • Size of the area which is to be treated
  • The coarseness of the hair

To achieve good reduction of hair growth and slowing of hair re-growth, most people will need on average 6-10 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Then it is more than likely that you will need periodic maintenance treatments. In the following weeks after treatment, hair may appear to be growing in the treated areas. As the follicles are lifeless this is the body attempting to cast them off to get rid of them. If the hair doesn’t fall out then this is because the hair wasn’t targeted by the laser as it wasn’t in its growth cycle when treatment was given.
