Friction

This method of hair removal is achieved by rubbing the hair off at the skins surface using a skin hair friction mitt, a pumice stone or some other rough substance. A skin friction hair mitt resembles fine emery boards or sandpaper, the mitt is moved in circular movements over the skin gently buffing the hair away.

Like shaving, hair will start to re-grow usually within a day but shouldn’t feel stubbly as the hair was rubbed away rather than sliced. Skin is exfoliated at the same time as the dead skin cells are also rubbed away.

Friction should only be used on finer hair as thicker hair will need more rubbing and this will irritate the skin. Skin should be soothed with a moisturiser after hair removal is complete.
