Epilators remove hair from the root by using rotating disks or multiple tweezers which are attached to an electrical handheld device. When moved over the skin, the epilator catches the hair and pulls it out from the skin.
Epilating can be quite painful although newer, more up to date epilators have pain reducers built in. For example one type of epilator has a cooling system where ice is used to cool the skin being treated.
Hair grows back in around 2-4 weeks and after time will become finer and sparser.
This method of hair removal is a good alternative to waxing as it can be done at home and does not create any mess.
